Design & Structural Features
High-Rigidity Frame & A-Frame Column
The VMC1580II is engineered with a robust frame cast entirely from high-grade gray iron, providing industry-leading vibration damping and structural mass. The column utilizes a precision-mounted herringbone and cross-ribbed “A-shape” geometry, boosting torsional stiffness and minimizing spindle deflection. The centrally mounted spindle head travels on dual high-precision roller linear guides for smooth, accurate vertical movement.
High-Precision Linear Guideway System
Heavy-duty PMI guideways on all three axes ensure fluid positioning and high-speed rapids, maintaining tight tolerances over extended production cycles.
Gearbox-Driven 6,000 RPM BT50 Spindle
The V15 runs a gear-driven BT50 spindle built for heavy cutting rather than high rpm — 607 Nm (448 ft-lbf) of peak torque lets it take deep cuts in steel and cast iron at low speed, where a 40-taper machine would stall. A constant-temperature spindle cooling system is standard for thermal stability on long runs.
24+1-Station Arm Type Automatic Tool Changer (ATC)
The cam-driven ATC delivers fast, reliable tool changes with the magazine positioned outside the machining zone for a clean cutting environment. A twin-bearing arm and integrated sensors ensure stable, consistent operation.

Largest Work Envelope in the VMC II Line
With 1,500 x 800mm of travel and a 1,700 x 800mm table rated to 1,500 kg, the V15 takes mould blocks, large weldments and multi-part fixtures that won't fit the smaller machines in the line.
Chip Management & Automation
An internal spiral chip conveyor and an external chain-type conveyor with trolley are both standard, moving high chip volumes straight out of the machine. The V15 also includes an interface for 4th-axis rotary tables, making it automation-ready from the factory floor.
